Chalk Pastel

My favourite, and last drawing from France. This took 45 on my windowsill and by the end my fingers were cold and blue and I couldn't feel them. What I've drawn hardly shows the beauty of the real thing- an incredible sunset. The colours really allowed me to use the soft chalks to their full advantage and they were pefect for the sky. However, I wish I had my hard chalks, because I would have captured the detail and perspective better.. A4 size.

This drawing took a very long time, because by the time I got to the water tower I had spent so long drawing in the cold I was freezing and my fingers had gone numb. Every five minutes I had to get up an walk round the water tower, trying to warm them up. I really like this drawing, it is the first time I get the hang of using soft chalks; though I would have prefered to draw elements like the sun in hard chalk so they are bolder. A4 size.

Chalk Pastel

In this drawing I start to use more technique and style. Soft chalk pastels are a bit like charcoal, very soft and easy to blend. A4 size.

Chalk Pastel

The series depicts one favourite cycle route in France- past the quarries up to the water tower. A4 size.

Chalk Pastel

My first use of soft chalk pastels! This series was a learning series and helped my built up technique. A4 size.

Chalk Pastel

I think this was drawn to people singing Oasis Wonderwall. Again, I've focused on the red guitar too and used abstract colours for the people. A4 size.

Chalk Pastel

This picture holds a lot of chaos- driven by the past pace of the music. You can see the three people playing the guitar n the centre, and the girl singing in the bottom right. A4 size.

Chalk Pastel

I focused mainly on the red guitar being played and made use of colour more than the previous. A4 size.

. This was painted while sailing up the Nile in a Fleccua- an amazing experience- have a look in my Photography section for photos I took during it. This is one of my favourite chalk pastel drawings. I also reproduced this in acryllic (see above). Below is a photo of me drawing it! A4 size.

Chalk Pastel

Draw as the sun was setting over the Nile. I have reproduced this in acryllic (see above) and have painted it in Fauvist colours on canvas with acryllic (I hope to put this up if I get a picture of it). A4 size.
